Release: WordsFlow 3.16 for InDesign 2023-2025

This release improves equation handling and table merging.

Update

To update, download and install the latest version from the product’s installation section.

Changes

    • Changes WordsFlow’s merge behavior to better align with its stated conflict resolution policy of letting the linked Word document “win” for content order. Edits made to a table row/column in InDesign during a link update are now abandoned if that row/column has been deleted in the linked Word file. Before, the row/column was always retained, and a warning was generated, in order to preserve edits made in InDesign.
    • Imports text marked Hidden in a Word document as conditional text named “Word_Hidden” whose visibility can be controlled in InDesign’s Conditional Text panel. Note that conditional text is only exported by WordsFlow if it is visible at the time of the export.
    • Adds an object style mapping option for imported Word equations. The Import Options dialog now provides a Math Expressions object type for assigning a specific InDesign object style to imported Word equations.
    • Changes the default object style of imported Word equations to [None] (instead of [Basic Graphics Frame]). The applied object style can be customized by creating a Math Expressions object style mapping in the Import Options dialog.
    • Improves the cropping, sizing, indenting, and styling of imported math expressions.
    • Adds support for fracturs, script, and double-struck characters within math expressions.
    • Fixes a problem where moving rows and/or columns between tables could make them appear in both locations.
    • Fixes a bug where splitting tables could cause deleted or changed content to reappear.
    • Fixes a problem where changed or updated images are sometimes ignored.
