Beta release: DocsFlow 7.0 beta 2 for InDesign CS5/5.5

July 26, 2011 by

DocsFlow 7.0 beta 2 (for InDesign CS5/5.5, Mac OS and Windows) is now available for download and testing. We encourage you to upgrade to this version if you’re using DocsFlow, as it fixes some update merge problems, improves stability, and builds in some debugging tools to help us diagnose future merge problems.

Changes

  • Improved the stability of content merges during updates.
  • Changed auto-generated styles to use the long names as documented in the user guide. (E.g., “Paragraph” instead of “p”).
  • Fixed the handling of document-side insertions that were being moved during updates.

Note that with the auto-generated style names changing, you may need to update existing documents. Also note that real style mapping will be introduced in the upcoming beta 3, and then you can adapt DocsFlow to fit your own style-naming standards, and avoid this whole issue.

You can download the latest beta from the sidebar here, or from the main product page. Thanks for whatever testing you can do, and we’d love to hear feedback, positive or negative!
