Release: WordsFlow 0.2 for InDesign CS5/CS5.5/CS6

September 28, 2012 by

We’ve just released WordsFlow 0.2, our second preview release, which is one step closer to final release.

This is mostly a packaging release, testing all the new machinery involved in the final release, and has no functional changes. (We haven’t gotten any bug reports from the first preview release.)

This release adds InDesign CS5 and CS5.5 support for the first time. It also bundles both Mac OS and Windows plugins in the single (.zxp) download for each InDesign version, for simplicity’s sake and in preparation for selling through Adobe Exchange. The plugins for CS5 and CS5.5 are also bundled into a single download for ease of installation.

This release fixes the collision with DocsFlow that was causing InDesign crashes, at least under Mac OS; we’re still working on the same problem for Windows, so for now you can’t deploy both WordsFlow and DocsFlow under Windows. We’ll solve this before the final release.

We may have a preview 3 (0.3) release, or we may go straight to the official 1.0 release in the very near future, depending on feedback.

We’d love hear from you, whether positive–even if everything just works as expected–or negative. Helpful substantial feedback will get you a free license!
