Release: DocsFlow 1.4.6 for InDesign CS5/5.5/6

October 5, 2012 by

This patch release addresses Mac OS X 10.7 & 10.8 installation issues and improves link handling.

Changes

  • Changed DocsFlow’s packaging for Mac OS to work around Adobe & Apple problems on Lion and Mountain Lion that were causing Adobe Extension Manager to install the plug-ins improperly or fail to install the plug-ins altogether. With an improper installation, DocsFlow would cause InDesign to exit on first use.
  • Changed the name of the installed plug-in files from DocsFlow 8 and DocsFlow UI 8 to DocsFlow and DocsFlow UI. Note that if you’re updating from a previous version of DocsFlow, this change may cause Adobe Extension Manager to produce warnings about an extensions conflict. Please ignore these warnings by first selecting “Yes” to replace the old extension with the new and then by selecting “Yes to all” to replace all pieces of the old DocsFlow plug-ins with the new one.

Once updated, you may choose to delete the old plug-ins–DocsFlow 8.pln, (DocsFlow 8 Resources), DocsFlow UI 8.pln, and (DocsFlow UI 8 Resources) on Windows and DocsFlow 8.InDesignPlugIn and DocsFlow UI 8.InDesignPlugIn on Mac OS–from your InDesign installation’s Plug-Ins folder by hand, as Extension Manager does not perform this bit of clean-up itself.

  • Improved the handling of mildly-corrupted links. Such links are no longer ignored and now remain enabled for update.
