Release: WordsFlow 1.0 for InDesign CS5/CS5.5/CS6
We’re happy to announce the first official release of WordsFlow, our InDesign plug-in designed to make a huge improvement in your Word/Excel-based production workflow.
This 1.0 version–actually the fifth public release, after four pre-release versions, but we’re starting at 1.0 for tradition’s sake–now requires an official license code which you can purchase from our online store.
We’ve changed the way that WordsFlow works, by making text and spreadsheet placement linking controllable by the InDesign global preference Create Links When Placing Text and Spreadsheet Files. We turn this preference on by default when WordsFlow runs for the first time, and then you can decide whether you’d like it on or off by default after that.
When the Create Links preference is on, you can use File > Place without WordsFlow… to place files without linking, and when it’s off, that menu item changes to Place with WordsFlow… so you can opt-in to linking.
