DocsFlow — The InDesign workflow breakthrough for Google Docs

DocsFlow is a plug-in for Adobe InDesign that marries Google Docs’ shared editing power to InDesign’s layout prowess, giving you on-line, two-way story links to Google Docs documents.
InDesign users invoke Place with DocsFlow… to create those live story links. Later, when there are Google Docs content changes, they can update those links normally. That triggers DocsFlow’s magic merge-update, where no work is lost: InDesign-side editing and formatting remain intact, while any Google Docs edits are intelligently merged into the updated story.
The Pro version of DocsFlow adds two-way workflows for documents and one-way for sheets.

Five minutes to DocsFlowing
You can download and install the full plug-in from the “Downloads” sidebar on this page, or on the product page. Just find your InDesign version (CC 2017 down to CS5) and your platform (macOS or Windows) and click on the appropriate link, to download. Double-click the downloaded installer to complete the installation. It shouldn’t take more than two to five minutes for the whole process, depending on your network.
Once installed, (re) start InDesign, and, on first use when prompted by a licensing dialog, press the Demo button. You then have 15 days to try out DocsFlow with all features enabled, including the Pro features.
When placing content from Google Docs, use File > DocsFlow > Place from Google Docs…, and select a document to place it (which automatically sets up a dynamic link). When the linked source Google Docs document is changed, you’ll see a link-changed icon in the Links panel. Double-click that icon to merge in the changes, without losing your work. Now you’re already up and running and saving massive time!
