WordsFlow — The InDesign workflow breakthrough for Word/Excel

InDesign users invoke Place with WordsFlow… to create live story links. Later, when there are external content changes, they can update those links normally. That triggers WordsFlow’s magic merge-update, where no work is lost: InDesign-side editing and formatting remain intact, while any Word/Excel edits are intelligently merged into the updated story.
The Pro version of WordsFlow adds two-way workflows for Word and one-way for Excel sheets.

Five minutes to WordsFlowing
You can download and install the full plug-in from the “Downloads” sidebar on this page, or on the product page. Just find your InDesign version (CC 2017 down to CS5) and your platform (macOS or Windows) and click on the appropriate link, to download. Double-click the downloaded installer to complete the installation. It shouldn’t take more than two to five minutes for the whole process, depending on your network.
Once installed, (re) start InDesign, and, on first use when prompted by a licensing dialog, press the Demo button. You then have 15 days to try out WordsFlow with all features enabled, including the Pro features.
When placing content, use File > WordsFlow > Place with WordsFlow… instead of a normal File > Place…. When the source file is changed, you’ll see a link-changed icon in the Links panel. Double-click that icon to merge in the changes, without losing your work. Now you’re already up and running and saving massive time!

If you decide you don’t want to use WordsFlow (and we’d love to know why), you can uninstall it any time by (macOS) deleting the Plug-Ins/Em Software sub-folder in the InDesign folder, or (Windows) using the standard system uninstaller.
