Release: WordsFlow 1.3 for InDesign CS5–CC2014

August 7, 2014 by

This release mainly adds support for back-saving to previous versions of InDesign, but also addresses a few minor issues.

Changes

  • Adds support for back-saving to older versions of InDesign via IDML, for storing WordsFlow-linked stories in library elements, and for preserving WordsFlow links through drag’n’dropped snippets and when using WordsFlow-linked stories with InCopy.
  • Adds a handy story status indicator to the WordsFlow link icon.

When a + appears on the WordsFlow link icon, it means that the associated InDesign story has been modified in some way since it was imported or last updated. (CS6+ only)

  • Fixes a problem where updating after deleting and then recovering table rows or columns might fail.

Notes

If installing this version results in an Extension Manager failure, please re-download and try again.

(Explanation: We re-released this version with a new code-signing certificate the morning of August 20, 2014, with a “r2” or “r3” download file suffix to indicate the change, depending on the InDesign version. Previous downloads for pre-CC versions won’t work after August 24, 2014; their code-signing certificate expires, which will cause the Extension Manager install to fail.)
